   New York City Altrusans seek to improve the quality of life for people in our community by engaging in a variety of projects.

Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen--feeds over 1,000 homeless meals daily.  We enjoyed serving 1,200 and 1,400 meals for Make a Difference Day!
Trickle Up--grants seed money for women entrepreneurs worldwide. Microfinancing is key to a better quality of life for families worldwide.
Eviction Intervention Services--assists people in finding housing and fighting unfair evictions;
Hour Children--cares for children born in prison of incarcerated mothers;
Anna House--provides preschool learning library in this unique bilingual facility located at Belmont Field Race Track;
Altrusa NYC Club donated beautiful books for Make a Difference Day;
UNIFEM--Altrusa International, Inc., of New York participates in their Annual Walks to End Violence Against Women.
Explore Your Opportunities - The Sky's the Limit!--A conference at Barnard College to excite 7th grade girls about math, science, technology and engineering. to encourage them in these career paths in coalition with the American Association of University Women, New York City, Westchester and Manhattan Branches and Barnard College in mid-March each year. Icla da Silva Foundation - provides funds to this organization that recruits and registers blood marrow donors.
Friends of Central Park--maintains the last surviving Elm tree in the North East located in Central Park.
